Understanding your Building Snapshot (Owners)

Get a quick, structured view of how your building is tracking.

Updated this week

What the Building Snapshot is

Your Building Snapshot gives you a concise overview of your building’s health across key areas such as financials, condition, compliance, insurance and any issues or upcoming works.

It helps you quickly see:

  • How well the building is being managed

  • Whether there are risks or overdue items

  • How financial and maintenance activity looks

  • What may need to be raised with your strata manager or committee

It’s a fast way to stay informed without reading through pages of strata records.

Where to find it

  1. Log in to Cohabit.

  2. Go to My Buildings.

  3. Click your building.

  4. Select the Building Snapshot tab.

What you’ll see in your Snapshot

Each tile represents a major area of building health. You may see some or all of the following:

Financial Stats

Shows things like fund balances, levies, and any special levies noted in the records.
Useful for: understanding financial stability and planning for upcoming expenses.

Building Condition

Shows whether defects or condition issues are noted in the records.
Useful for: tracking maintenance needs and overall building health.

Compliance Information

Shows compliance items such as fire safety, valuations, record keeping, and AGM dates.
Useful for: seeing if anything looks overdue or missing.

Building Insurance

Shows your current insurer, premium, expiry, and (where available) insurance risk rating.
Useful for: preparing for renewal or comparing insurance options.

Works, Issues & Maintenance

Shows patterns or items mentioned in the records — completed works, upcoming works, or recorded issues.
Useful for: understanding building activity and potential risks.

Sustainability / Liveability (where supported)

Shows energy, water, solar or amenity indicators.
Useful for: understanding environmental performance and living standards.

How owners typically use the Snapshot

  • To prepare for AGMs, EGMs or committee meetings

  • To monitor changes over time (especially if your building uses Building Intelligence)

  • To identify areas needing follow-up with your strata manager

  • To interpret the building’s overall risk and performance

Why some tiles may show “No data”

It means Cohabit has not yet received the relevant strata documents for that category.
This is normal for buildings that:

  • Haven’t had recent record inspections, OR

  • Haven’t provided compliance documents, minutes or insurance updates
