How to compare insurance policies through Cohabit

See how your current insurance policy compares to leading providers and request quotes directly through Cohabit.

Step 1 — Open Compliance & Renewals

  1. Go to My Buildings.

  2. Select the building.

  3. Click Compliance & Renewals.

  4. Scroll to the Building Insurance (COC) section.


Step 2 — Click “Compare Policies”

Under your current policy details, click:

👉 Compare Policies →

This opens the full comparison tool.

Step 3 — Review your current policy

At the top of the screen, you’ll see:

  • Current premium

  • Coverage details

  • A comparison to similar buildings

  • Estimated savings through Cohabit

  • Insurance risk rating

This gives you a snapshot of how your policy performs.


Step 4 — Compare alternative policies

Scroll down to see multiple insurer options (e.g., SCI, Chubb, CHU).

For each policy you can view:

  • Monthly/annual premium

  • Cover amounts

  • Key benefits

  • “Best for You” or “Top Rated” tags

  • A short summary of why the policy fits your building profile


Step 5 — Request a quote

When you’ve found a policy you want to explore:

  1. Click Request Quote.

  2. Enter any additional details if prompted.

  3. Cohabit or the insurer will follow up with a detailed proposal.

Quotes will be shared with you directly for committee review.


Step 6 — Save or share comparison results

Cohabit recommends including:

  • Comparison screenshots

  • Risk rating

  • Estimated premium savings

This makes it easier to present options to your committee (see next article).
