How expert messaging works
If you’re on Cohabit Pro, messaging with a Cohabit Expert starts automatically when you request a Building Health Score.
You don’t manually start a chat, and you can’t open one from the Messages section on its own.
Instead, Cohabit creates a dedicated conversation for the building as soon as your request is submitted and an expert is assigned.
When the chat opens
A conversation is created when:
You’re on Cohabit Pro
You submit a Building Health Score request
An expert is assigned to the building
Once this happens, the conversation appears in Messages, linked to that specific building.
Messaging during the review
Because the chat opens immediately, you can message your expert before their review is complete.
This is useful for:
Flagging specific concerns
Asking the expert to focus on certain risks or documents
Providing context about the purchase or building
Clarifying what you’re hoping to understand
For example:
“Can you pay close attention to special levies?”
“This building is quite old — are defects a common issue?”
“We’re in a tight cooling-off period.”
Where to find the conversation
To access the chat:
Go to Messages
Select the conversation linked to your building
You’ll see the assigned Cohabit Expert in the thread
All discussion about the building stays in this single conversation, including follow-up questions after insights are delivered.
What experts can help with in chat

Walk you through Expert Insights once complete
