Who this article is for

  • Lot owners who want to track or pay levies through Cohabit

  • Owners who have received a levy notice (regular or special)

  • Anyone setting up levy payments for the first time

Before you start

To add a levy notice in Cohabit, you’ll need:

  • An Owner account

  • At least one apartment connected

  • Your levy notice on hand (PDF, photo, or paper copy)

Once a levy is added, it will appear under Upcoming Payments until it’s paid. After payment, it moves to Past Payments with a stored receipt.

Step-by-step: Adding a levy notice

Step 1 — Open Payments

  1. Log in to Cohabit (mobile or desktop).

  2. Click Payments in the main navigation.

You’ll see your connected apartments first.

Step 2 — Select the apartment

  1. Click the apartment you want to add a levy for.

Step 3 — Start adding a levy

  1. Click Set up payments on the apartment you wish to add a levy for.

Step 4 — Enter levy details from your levy notice

You’ll be guided through a short form to enter the key details from your levy notice.

These typically include:

  • Levy type (regular or special)

  • Levy period

  • Due date

  • Total amount

  • Breakdown (admin + capital works), if shown

Take a moment to double-check the numbers before continuing — this ensures your tracking and payment record are accurate.

Step 5 — Add payment reference details

Next, enter the payment details needed to pay the levy correctly, such as:

  • Biller code (if applicable)

  • Reference number

  • Payment destination details (as shown on the notice)

These details help Cohabit match payments and keep your levy record clean and searchable later.

Step 6 — Choose your payment method

  1. Select a saved payment method, or

  2. Click Add new payment method to add one now

If you add a payment method here, it’s saved to My Wallet for future levy payments.

Step 7 — Personalise your payment preferences

You’ll be asked how you’d like to manage payments for this levy.

Depending on your building setup, this may include:

  • Paying manually each time, or

  • Setting up automatic payments

Step 8 — Levy successfully added

Once complete:

  • The levy will appear under Upcoming Payments

  • You can pay it immediately or later

  • Once paid, it will move to Past Payments with a receipt

Step-by-step: Confirming your levy is added

Step 1 — Return to Upcoming Payments

  1. Go back to the apartment’s payments view.

  2. Make sure you’re on Upcoming Payments.

Step 2 — Open the levy to confirm details

  1. Click View levy to confirm:

  • Due date

  • Amount

  • Levy period

  • Payment reference details

If anything is incorrect, update it before paying.

If something looks wrong

If details don’t match the levy notice:

  • Don’t pay it yet

  • Double-check the levy notice

  • Correct the levy details if you can, or contact Cohabit Support for help
