Who this article is for

  • Buyers researching multiple buildings

  • Buyer’s agents comparing properties for clients

  • Owners wanting to keep track of building information over time

What it means to track a building

When you search for and open a building in Cohabit, that building is automatically added to your recently searched buildings, making it easy to return to buildings you’ve looked up without needing to search again.

Tracking a building does not mean you own it or are connected to it — it simply means you’ve researched it.

Current and past reports

To help you stay organised, Cohabit groups buildings you’ve researched into current and past reports.

Current reports

Current reports are buildings you’re actively researching.

A building appears under current reports when:

  • A Building Health Score or Expert Insights are in progress or recently completed

This is where you’ll typically:

  • View newly generated Health Scores

  • Access Expert Insights

  • Compare multiple buildings side by side

Past reports

Past reports are buildings you researched previously but are no longer actively reviewing.

A building may move to past reports after a period of time (for example, around three months), once it’s no longer part of your current research activity.

Past reports allow you to:

  • Revisit older research

  • Refer back to previous Health Scores or Expert Insights

  • Keep a record of buildings you’ve already reviewed

Why buildings move from current to past

Research is designed to reflect what you’re actively working on.

As time passes and your focus changes, buildings you haven’t revisited recently may move from current to past reports to keep your Research list manageable.

You can still open and view past reports at any time.

What happens if you open a past report again

If you open a building from past reports or from your recent searches:

  • The building profile opens as normal

  • You can view the existing Health Score and Expert Insights

  • The building may return to your current reports if you a new health score or expert insight request has been made

This keeps your Research list aligned with what you’re actively reviewing.

Tracking research over time

Tracking buildings in Research helps you:

  • Compare multiple buildings during due diligence

  • Quickly return to recent searches

  • Keep a history of what you’ve already reviewed

Research updates automatically as you search and revisit buildings.
