Who this article is for
Owners and committee members who have submitted a lot connection request
Anyone waiting for Cohabit to confirm that their lot is connected
Where you can see the status
You can track your lot connection request in two main places:
The Feed – shows the activity and its current status
The Your apartments section in your Building Profile – shows whether your lot is connected or still pending
You may also receive email notifications when your request is approved or declined.
1. Check your request in the Feed
Step 1 – Open the Feed
Log in to Cohabit.
Click Feed in the left-hand menu.
(Screenshot: Feed with tabs across the top)
Step 2 – Go to Pending Strata Approval
At the top of the Feed, click the Pending Strata Approval tab.
This tab shows requests and activities that are waiting to be reviewed, including lot connection requests.

Step 3 – Find your lot connection activity
Look for an activity that relates to “Connect to a Lot” or a similar label for your building.
Each row/card will show:
The building
Basic request info
The current status (e.g. Pending, Approved, Declined) once it’s updated
Click the activity to open it.
Step 4 – View full details and status
On the Activity page you’ll see:
Building address
Dates
The request reason / details you provided
Lot number (where captured)
A status badge such as:
Pending – still being reviewed
Approved – your lot connection has been accepted
Declined – your lot connection couldn’t be confirmed
You can also use the Comments box on the right to:
Ask for an update
Clarify details if something is wrong
Respond to questions from the Cohabit admin or strata side

2. Check your lot under “Your apartments”
Once your request is approved, it will show up in your building profile.
Step 1 – Go to your building
Click My Buildings.
Select the relevant building to open its Building Profile (Overview tab).
Step 2 – Find Your apartments
On the Overview tab, scroll to Your apartments.
If your lot connection has been approved, you’ll see your lot listed here.
If it’s still pending or has been declined, it may:
Be shown with a pending label, or
Not appear yet (depending on how your building is configured).
(Screenshot: Your apartments card showing a connected lot)
If your lot appears here as connected, you’re all set – Cohabit now recognises you as an owner for that lot.
What happens after approval
When your lot connection is approved:
Your Cohabit account is linked to that lot
Cohabit can treat you as an authorised owner when inspecting strata records on your behalf (via proper authority)
Your lot will appear in Your apartments
You’ll receive any owner-specific benefits attached to your building (e.g. Building Intelligence views, levy tracking where supported)
FAQs
Q: How long does a lot connection request take to approve?
Timing can vary, as a Cohabit admin needs to check your details against building records.
If it’s been a while, open the activity from your Feed and add a comment, or contact Cohabit Support via the chat bubble.
Q: My request was declined – what should I do?
Open the activity from the Feed to see if a reason is mentioned. Common issues include:
Lot number doesn’t match records
Name or ownership can’t be confirmed
Missing supporting documents
You can:
Add a comment to clarify, and
Provide extra information (e.g. levy notice, contract front page), or
Submit a corrected request if asked to do so.
Q: I submitted a request but don’t see anything in Pending Strata Approval.
Check:
You were logged in as an owner when you made the request
You chose the right building and lot
If you still can’t see it, contact Cohabit Support with:
Your name
Building address
Lot/apartment number
Approximate date you submitted the request
Q: Can I cancel or change my lot connection request?
You can’t usually edit it directly, but you can:
Add a comment on the activity explaining what needs to change, or
Ask Cohabit Support to withdraw or correct the request and resubmit.
