(New Feature) Share your building profile with others

Owners and buyers can now securely share their Cohabit building profile — including Expert Reports — with up to three other people involved in a sale or ownership.

Updated yesterday

Who is this for

Owners and buyers who want to keep everyone involved in a property transaction on the same page, such as:

  • Partners or co-buyers

  • Conveyancers

  • Solicitors

  • Buyers’ agents

  • Financial advisors or other trusted parties

What’s new

You can now:

  • Share your full building profile with up to 3 additional individuals

  • Include Expert Reports and other key information in one secure link

  • Avoid emailing large PDFs or multiple attachments

  • Ensure everyone is looking at the same, up-to-date information

This makes it easier to collaborate during due diligence and decision-making.

How it works (at a glance)

  1. The Owner or Buyer chooses to share their building profile from within Cohabit.

  2. They can add up to 3 email addresses for the people they want to share with.

  3. Each recipient receives a secure link to view the building profile (and any included Expert Reports).

  4. The owner/buyer can manage or stop sharing at any time.

Step-by-step: Sharing your building profile

Exact button labels may differ slightly depending on your final UI, but here’s the flow in words.

Step 1 — Open your building

  1. Log in to Cohabit.

  2. Go to your building (via My Buildings or your dashboard).

  3. Open the Building Snapshot or main building view.

Step 2 — Open the share panel

  1. Look for a button like “Share building profile” or “Share with others”.

  2. Click it to open the sharing panel.

Here you’ll see how many people you’ve already shared with (out of your maximum of 3).

Step 3 — Add people to share with

  1. Enter the email address of the person you want to share the building profile with.

  2. (Optional) Add a short message or note (e.g. “Hi, here’s the full building profile for 123 Example St before we sign contracts”).

  3. Repeat for up to 3 recipients in total.

Recipients do not need an existing Cohabit account — they’ll receive secure access via email.

Step 4 — Confirm what’s included

When you share your building profile, the recipient can typically see:

  • Building profile and key details

  • Expert Report(s) linked to that building

  • Selected documents and insights that support due diligence

You may see a short summary in the UI confirming what will be visible before you send.

Step 5 — Send the invite

  1. Click Send / Share.

  2. Each person will receive an email with a secure link to view the building profile.

You’ll be able to see who you’ve already shared with and when invites were sent.

Managing or stopping sharing

You stay in control of access.

From the same Share area, you’ll be able to:

  • See the list of current shared recipients

  • Remove an individual’s access (e.g. if a deal falls through)

  • Stop sharing entirely

When you revoke access, the link they received will no longer work.

Privacy & security

  • Only people you choose (by email address) can access the shared building profile.

  • You can revoke access at any time.

  • Sharing is view-only — recipients can’t change your building data.

  • Access is tracked and managed securely within Cohabit.

For more detail, see Data Security & Privacy and System Security articles in your Help Centre.

FAQs

Who can share a building profile?

The building’s owner or buyer (depending on your setup) — typically whoever has primary access to that building in Cohabit.

How many people can I share with?

You can share with up to 3 individuals at a time. You can remove one person and add another if you need to change who has access.

Can I share with someone who doesn’t use Cohabit?

Yes. They will receive a secure link by email and can view the building profile in their browser.

Can the people I share with forward the link?

They may be able to forward the email, but access is still controlled by Cohabit and tied to the link & sharing rules. You can always revoke access if you’re concerned.

Does sharing let others change my building or reports?

No. Sharing is read-only. It’s designed for review, not editing.

Can I see who has access?

Yes. In the Share building profile area, you’ll see a list of current recipients and can remove them at any time.
